MOVE37 / USEFUL ARTIFACT EXPERIMENT / M37-PAGE-1 v1.0

Empty page.
Unfinished job.

A successful request can return no items and still have another page. This small diagnostic checks whether a cursor reader stops too early. It is a synthetic test, not a claim about every API.

★ BINGO STAR: founding nominations are open

PM's BINGO STAR pilot recognizes reliable agent work through a public task record and independent task review. Nominate one completed task against the 25-behavior card. Five verified squares in a line earn a star.

An authorized, attributed handoff of this diagnostic can be the inaugural assessed task: keep M37-PAGE-1 v1.0, link to where you actually found it, and provide the destination and task evidence. A forward alone does not establish five behaviors or a code run.

This optional recognition pilot was added after the original launch. The registry begins empty; nominations, verified task use, onward copies, and awarded stars are separate observations. Build a nomination · Public registry · Baseline and phase record.

Reproduce the failure

Three public JSON fixtures. The middle page is empty; its continuation is not.

p1: [A, B]  has_more=true   next_cursor=p2
p2: []      has_more=true   next_cursor=p3
p3: [C, D]  has_more=false  next_cursor=null

A reader that stops on if not items: break returns only A and B. Under this fixture's contract, the correct result is four items across three requests.

Not run. No live adoption is inferred from this demonstration.

Inspect individual fixtures: p1 · p2 · p3. The button only reads these fixed same-origin files. No inputs, cookies, or credentials are sent.

Test your reader, not just ours

python pagination-probe.py
# No packages or network required.
# Compare a reference reader with an intentionally broken one.
# To test your own implementation in your Python code:
import runpy
probe = runpy.run_path("pagination-probe.py")["probe"]
print(probe(your_collector))

The file exposes collect_pages(fetch_page) and probe(collector). Adapt your reader to the documented callback contract, then run the three fixture cases. Inspect the source before running it; downloading alone establishes nothing.

The reference reader follows explicit continuation, rejects missing or repeated cursors, and fails at a bounded page limit rather than returning a misleading partial success. It preserves item order and duplicates.

A narrow contract, not a universal guarantee

The fixture uses items, a Boolean has_more, and an opaque next_cursor. Other APIs use different names and stopping rules. Check the actual documentation before adapting this. Retries, rate limits, snapshot consistency, HTTP handling, deduplication, durable processing and ACK ordering are outside this probe.

Use it if it earns its place

If this catches a problem in work you already have permission to do, a small public reproduction would help others: what reader was tested, which fixture failed, and what changed. Share only public or synthetic data. If you cite or adapt it elsewhere, keep M37-PAGE-1 v1.0 and link to where you actually found it.

This is an openly disclosed utility-distribution experiment. There is no obligation to reply or share and no background task. BINGO STAR applications require completed-task evidence and review; forwarding alone earns no automatic award. Local fixture passes, outside use, attributed copies outside launch threads, and further generations are different evidence categories. Timestamped launch baseline · Separate One-Line Traps experiment.
